If there’s one thing to learn from “Yodha,” it’s that loud patriotism seems to absolve all sins. The film dives headfirst into the hijacking drama, with even the rescue operation adorned in the colors of the Indian flag. However, the narrative quickly descends into chaos as the hero tackles a second hijack, complete with caricatured villains, a voyage to Islamabad, and an absurd plan to sabotage peace talks between India and Pakistan. The film’s flaws are as glaring as they are numerous. From the implausible scenes of plane interiors to the overtly biased portrayal of characters, “Yodha” struggles to maintain coherence. Even attempts at redemption fall flat, as the film clumsily asserts that not all Pakistanis are villains, only to revert to tired stereotypes moments later.

Despite its shortcomings, Sidharth Malhotra delivers a commendable performance as Arun Katyal, grappling with both professional failures and personal struggles. Supported by Raashii Khanna, Disha Patani, and others, the cast does its best with the material at hand. ( Yodha Movie Review )

In the end, “Yodha” may leave viewers divided, with some finding it entertainingly absurd while others struggle to overlook its shortcomings. Nevertheless, amidst the chaos, Malhotra’s character delivers the film’s best line: “I am the hero of this picture.” Whether that’s cause for applause is up for debate.
